12/28/2005: "The Devil's Feather"
I found this Minette Walters very hard to put down.
Picture this: two toddlers, an exhausting day followed by an exhausting evening of household chores once the kids are asleep, a soft inviting bed, eyes burning from 3 years' worth of sleep deprivation. And what do I do on Christmas Day late night, if not start on my Christmas present, The Devil's Feather. At 2am my husband wakes up and says: "Must be a good book. Glad I bought it for you."
At 8pm the next evening (and no, I'm not a slow reader, I did sleep and sepnd the whole day with the kids in-between), my husband says in a sea of un-picked-up-toys and un-cleared table: "This book is making you lazy. I'm going to confiscate it."
I've finished it now, which is why I'm able to write the blog.
