CWA Conference Programme

The CWA Members’ Conference is being held at the Southampton Park Hotel over the weekend of April 20 - 22, 2012. This is a private event, limited to those members and their guests who have paid the conference fee.

Friday 20 April

Registration from 3 pm

5.30: Drinks Reception with Mayor of Southampton Venue: Sea City Museum

Dinner 7pm for 8pm.

Saturday 21 April

9.30 Annia Cherryson talks about excavating a Winchester execution cemetery.

10.30 The Marine Police Unit talk

11.30 Coffee

12 Jim Brown. Policeman in Southampton in the ‘50s and ‘60s. Now writes True crime books about Southampton.

1pm Lunch – you can enjoy lunch at the hotel or in any of the many eating places around.

The afternoon is free to spend enjoying Southampton. The SeaCity Museum, the Tudor Merchants’ House, the Art Gallery, shopping, relaxing or you can also visit Mottisfont Abbey and Gardens, Romsey (limited numbers.) Please let Kate Stacey know in advance if you require this last option so that she can organise transport. There will be an additional charge of approx £10 for the Mottisfont trip.
